Michael L. Joroff

Michael L. JoroffMichael L. Joroff specializes in strategic planning and organizational development for organizations and cities in transition, and in using the physical environment to drive and support that change.

Current work focuses on how the physical environment converges with cyberspace to influence the development of human and social capital and where work and learning are accomplished in the office, the home and the community. He works at the scale of the city and the workplace.

He is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Architecture and Planning of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with which he has been affiliated since 1978. He consults and does research with cities and corporations in the Americas, Europe and Asia, where he also lectures and does professional education. He recently co-authored: Excellence by Design: Transforming Work and Workplace and The Agile Workplace: Enabling People and Their Work.

He was formally a Senior Consultant with the global R&D management firm Arthur D. Little and has been a Visiting Professor at Delft University of Technology and the University of Tokyo.
